ahh..what a week..i just started my training at AMI..thus, i only got the weekends to do stuff..i found bananas in the kitchen which were too ripe actually.. the skin had already blackened, but still edible..very sweet, very mushy..mama and abah went out yesterday for the haji course, leaving me and ainaa at home..petang2 je biasalah, lapar..i went through the cabinets and fridge and there wasnt much of anything..so that i wont have to complicate things (while feeling quite starving), i decided upon pancakes..main campak2 je pun, malas pulak nak pegi bukak buku resepi..some flour, an egg, and milk..some sugar too..and for some extravagance (yeela tu), sliced a few bananas and placed them on the pancakes while the batter was still wet in the hot pan..after i cooked both sides of the cakes, the bananas caramelised and became very soft and sweet..ainaa saw what i did and she went “yuck!!”.. that was quite a letdown, but i took a bite, and it was actually really good..”eh, sedapnye..cuba letak honey sket”..and i squeezed some on top..mmg lagi sedap..ainaa joined in, and surprisingly, she said “akak, wat lagi satu”..hehehe..siap dia suruh letak pisang banyak2 kat die punye..we ended up makan banana pancakes dgn minum air teh la ptg tuh..simple and satisfying..
p/s: by the way, i finished my mom’s day project, and gave her the present this morning..she seems very pleased and i’m glad for that.. yay

i have an excellent idea for mom’s day and i just cant help blurting it out (typical me..hehe). Mama had asked me so many times before to type back all her recipes, the ones that she treasured so much..when i was standard 2 or 3, she took a course on basic baking. The course was held at the house of the “teacher” or k juhara as she called her. mama took the lessons during weekends and she almost always brought me with her. and i liked following her..i guess those were the times when i first realised my interest in baking..or maybe those times are the reason of me liking to bake today..i used to jadi penyibuk at mama’s classes..semua makcik2 tgh sibuk watching the baking demonstration, i also menyibuk sama..i even sibuk jotting down any tips or techniques used given or shown by the teacher on mama’s recipe sheet.. each of the participants got printed recipe sheets during each lessons..those are the recipe sheets that mama uses until this very day..my handwritings and drawings are still there (from my menyibuk activities)..there are lots of stain, lots of grease marks, drops of food colouring, you name it..the papers have gone from white to brownish yellow, terkoyak2, terlipat2, macam2 kaler ade..let me count..hmm..i think the papers are 15 or 16 years old..no wonder la kan..
well, seeing how bad in shape her treasures are, mama banyak kali asked me to type them all back..but i kept forgetting to do it..or sometimes when i wanted to type it, i just cant find the time..so..that’s why when i suddenly thought of this idea, i just thought..”this is brilliant!”..my idea is of course, to type all the recipes back nicely and print it on good quality A4 papers..not only that, i also want to compile all of them in a hard-cover file, and decorate it beautifully..so that these new recipe sheets wont wither like the old ones, i want to place them in refillable clear plastic sheets..then the file will be sort of like a clear holder..the plastic sheets are easy to find..so she can keep any of her future recipe sheets in the file as well..it will be her personal file of recipe collection..aaah, i’m so glad i thought of it..
i already have a file that abah wanted to throw away this afternoon..it is perfect..it is hard-covered..the outside of the file is wrapped in plastic in which i can placed a piece of paper underneath it..i can decorate the paper..colourful pictures..words like “Mama’s recipes” or ” Mama’s kitchen” or whatsoever..and attached inside is a two hole paper holder, which is big enough for mama to keep hundreds of recipe sheets..right now i’m still in the process of typing the recipes..the recipes that even i myself cherish so much..i’ve learned a lot from mama..she thought me baking and cooking using these recipes as well as from her own..and from these recipes, i found my passion..and i’m still not finish learning..i’ve a long way yet to go..my mom’s day gift would only be a small token of my appreciation, compared to her patience and perseverance in ensuring anak dara die ni tau masuk dapur(harhar)..well mama, this is a secret actually, this gift, but i’m not worried about you getting to know my plan..hehe..lucky me, in this house right now, i’m the only one who is IT literate..
